Can you put acrylic on your natural nails if they are long enough. and if so what negative effect can it have.?

You can, but they are very bad for your nails! Acrylic does not allow your nails to ';breathe'; and frequently aid in the breeding of nail fungus and infection!

I would recommend gel nails instead. They are lighter and allow your nails to breathe. Plus, they are cured with a UV light, so there's no worries about bacteria. =)

*Be SURE that wherever you get your nails done really use gel! Many salons claim to use gel because they can charge more for them, but are actually using acrylic. You can tell the difference by the smell-- acrylic is overpowering; gel has little to no smell.

Good luck! =)Can you put acrylic on your natural nails if they are long enough. and if so what negative effect can it have.?
yes you can, it is called a natural nail overlay.

If the tech is properly qualified and takes great pride in their sanitation and the care of the clients natural nails there will be no damage whatsoever.

I'm sorry but for the first person who answered, it's people like you who keep all the myths and fears alive in the nail industry.

Gel and acrylic are made of the same products, they just come in different forms, infact gel can cause more allergic reactions than acrylic........ and since when did nails grow lungs to breathe? (hits head against brickwall).

Oh and to the other poster, there is no scientific evidence that uptodate professional nail products can CANCER !?!?!?!Can you put acrylic on your natural nails if they are long enough. and if so what negative effect can it have.?
