my friend told me about a like nail stamping thing. you Choose a polish paint your nails, then let it dry. after that you use like a template and fill it in with color or trace it with the other color of polish. i dont know exactly how it works, but is does somthing like that.but the only thing is it needs special nail polish. an for 2 templates and 10 polishes it costs $200. the other set has 10 templates and 20 nail polishes it costs $400.

Do guys like women with fake nails or natural manicured nails?
I probably can't tell the difference. Of course if they have really long brightly painted nails I might notice them. Otherwise I just don't notice. Now if I need my back scratched that is a different story.Do guys like women with fake nails or natural manicured nails?

How do you get the glue off or your natural nails after you have taken off the fake ones?
I recently got fake nails for an event and when I took them off they left this layer of glue on my nails and I just want to know how to take this off. I know that your nails are supposed to be a little damaged after you put on fake nails but this is just a layer of glue not my nail. Also I got my nails from CVS ( I was trying to avoid spending the money for acrylics) so I don't know if that makes a difference?? awe you seem alittle panicked, but dont be. Its really easy all you have to do is get the acetone nail polish remover. Pour some in a bowl and let your fingers soke for 5-10 mins. Get a nail clippers and cut your nails as far as you can.
File off any gel or topcoat on your nails so the acetone works better.
Soak cotton balls in the acetone solution.
Lay one soaked cotton ball over each of your fingernails. If you don't have enough, do a few at a time and soak the cotton balls in the solution again and repeat for the nails that did not get removed.
Put some tape or foil around your nails to keep the cotton ball in place. Keep it there for 20 minutes to make sure that the process works.
After the full time has passed, gently peel the tape off.
Scrape the nail off with an orangewood stick.
Buff off the residue with a nail buffer.
Rub lotion on immediately, since acetone is so strong of a chemical. Your hands will dry out so apply oils and/or lotions frequently.
DON'T PUT YOUR FINGERS IN BLEACH!

Try nail polish remover, it takes off super glue even. One time my friend super glued his fingers together (not on purpose) and he used nail polish remover to get it off!
Soak your nails in aceton. Like put it in a bowl, and put both of your hands in. Soak it for about 15 mins.
I have had this problem before. There aren't many ways. The way i did it was by soaking my finger tips in nail varnish remover. This worked for me.

Any of those three will help to whiten %26amp; brighten your nails...
there's french nail kits with a white sticker that you place on the nail where it comes off the skin and then trim the sticker and apply clear gloss. it comes off easily too. they're available everywhere!
and if you buy a nail spa kit, they have this white pencil that you rub under the nail and it makes it look gorgeous and perfect.

Is biting nails natural?
I'm not really interested in hearing people tell me it's a bad habit, or it's disgusting or whatever. I simply want to know, is it natural for us to bite our nails? I seem to do it without thinking and it would make sense if it were natural as how else would we keep our nails in check in nature? Well, my friend has naturally long nails, and they kept on peeling and snapping off, but since she has stopped wearing nail varnish, they have become much stronger, I think there must be some sort of chemical in nail varnish to make the nails weaken.
But, if you were to use nail varnish, I think wearing a clear strengthening one would be your best bet.
Yes, your mom is right, Vitamin E does help strengthen them, you find Vitamin E in are mostly nuts like almonds, if you don't like them, just take Vitamin E supplements.

the fastest and easiest AND cheapest way to get stronger nails is by using tea tree oil nail strengthener. You can get it at Whole foods or maybe a gas station if your lucky
You do need more vitamin E and you can get pill supplies in a pharmacy :)
And also,you could use nail hardener to strenghten your nails,thats what I do.
Makes them all nice and non-brittle ;D

If you are not able to use gloves, minimize the amount of time the nails are wet and dry them immediately after they have been exposed to water for long periods of time.

Apply a thin coat of clear nail hardener over fingernails at least twice a day to help make the fingernails stronger. Do this for seven days consecutively, then remove the hardener and reapply a thin coat again, starting with day number one.
3:
Drink milk or take calcium tablets daily to help the body in making the nails stronger. Even a multivitamin with a significant dose of calcium is beneficial in the effort to make fingernails stronger.

As for strength, I think that if you're looking to have really long nails, acrylics would be stronger. If you just want regular length or even just natural overlays (gel put on without tips), gels will be fine. They'll look more natural too.

I get acrylic every three weeks, but i dont need tips or anything bc its my real nail, but for all of it its about 35.... and I love my nails, they NEVER break and always stay looking good until my next appointment. I would say acrylic.

As for strength, I think that if you're looking to have really long nails, acrylics would be stronger. If you just want regular length or even just natural overlays (gel put on without tips), gels will be fine. They'll look more natural too.

haha gosh i use to always get acrylic nails for like 4 years, but then i thought about the money and i thought it was a waste. i mean gel is better, but its more expensive. where i live you could get cheap acrylics for like 20 bucks and they do it good. id say just pain your nails yourself its better than spending all that money. a full set cost 40 and its not including white tips and etc? so how much is the grand total for that sheez. soo expensive. where r u frm? i started to just do my own nails .

I get acrylic every three weeks, but i dont need tips or anything bc its my real nail, but for all of it its about 35.... and I love my nails, they NEVER break and always stay looking good until my next appointment. I would say acrylic.

My nails are pretty perfect - long, strong and healthy but I recently broke two of the longest because I forgot to keep filling/trimming them so they got too long and broke when I caught a basketball someone tossed me.
It will take months for them to grow back to their normal size, so I was thinking of getting acrylics put on them, or maybe extensions? Do nail salons even do that? I don't want to trim all my other nails and get a full set put on...I could buy a full pack and just use two - but my nails are very narrow and not curved at all, and all fake nails I've ever seen have been weirdly rounded - and are too wide anyway...

I'm not a nail technician by any means, but... it'd be worth a shot to go in and just say to them that your two nails broke and if they could make those two look like the rest of your hand, then you'd be eternally grateful.

I am considering getting a very thin gel overlay put on my nails.
I do not want fake nails because my natural nails are long enough and strong enough by themselves but I simply hate quickly my nailpolish chips and nailpolish will stay on much better if I get a gel overlay put on.

Gel nails tend to have a more realistic look to them, and polish is not necessary. A UV gel topcoat, or sealer will give your nails a long lasting high gloss that doesn't require polish to look good. If you really want to wear polish, acrylic nails are definitely the way to go since the polish will adhere much better to the surface of the nails. This results in less chipping of the polish for longer periods of time. The use of basecoat will help to a certain degree, but overall, gel nails are just not good candidates for nail polish.

Gel nails sit ontop of the nail, they look the same, they are cheaper but you have to get them re-done more often. If you are going to get acrylic nails, despite what i said, go and get them done somewhere professional, look after them properly, and when you decide you want to have them removed, get it done properly and then get a manicure tailored for after-acrylics. Over all i recomened gel

Tips of Natural nails discoloured?
My natural nails are starting to grow long and the tip that goes past the finger isn't all one flat colour. Some of it is clear and not a pure white and other parts are fairly white. I know other people who have natural nails and its all a natural whitish flat colour. Does this mean my nails are unhealthy? Does anyone else have nails like this?
I have a relatively healthy diet and I'm not a smoker. I've never tried those sugar gelatin tablets, do they work?
They also isn't like a definitive line where it turns to white, the line is all wobbly. I hate looking at it lol. My mums and sisters nails are so nice. How do I get them looking nice?
I give myself manicures that include regular filing, buffing, hand moisturizing, cuticle oil and push backs, an OPI nail polish nail hardener treatment, polish and top coat regularly.
What else can I do?

I had acrylic nails done 3 months ago and they were a nightmare. I use my hands a lot and I just couldn't keep them in good condition. I eventually had them removed but they left my nails really short and thin... The thin part of my nails are almost grown out.. but you can totally see where the acrylic was... The nail tech takes off more than just the shine, all it requires is one, or two sweeps maximum with a buffer block. A lot of chop shop salons get the electric file (drill like device) on your own nail and thats extremely damaging...if theres dust coming off it its thinning your nail
The other and probably most damaging thing about the artificial system is...the way theyre removed. They should be soaked and buffed off. Soaked in acetone and buffed off with a nail file. okay so my friend just recently got acrylic nails put on for something special at her school. and i have wanted them for a while now. my mom never let me because she said that they will injure your nails. but the only thing is is that my nails are long and they grow pretty long so i wont need to get extra nails put on but they will but on the acrylic powder which in the case that ive seen it, it just lenghtenes them just a little.... so.. my question is if i just get the powder, will it damage my nails? please help cause i dont wanna ruin my nails but i still really do wanna get these... please help!
oh and one more question, when my friend got all this stuff done, she also got her eyebrows waxed and my mom also said im too young to get them done. but on the last day of school my friend and i are getting our nails done and i wanna get them done but i also dont wanna go behind her back. any help for that?

I like natural short nails the best, as long as they look healthy and taken care of. I believe that real beauty in the real world is taking care of yourself and presenting the best of your natural self. I getmy nails done and sometimes i want to be crazy and get fun colors but for everyday i like to get them really short so i dont scratch my self and anyone else and i also get them white with the pink underneath which look really natural and not so fake. but if your nails are already pretty with out them then dont do it cuz you will have to keep it up. also make sure you have enough money to go every 2 weeks to get them done thats the probelm i ran into.

that kinda offends me, because i have extensions in my hair. However i don't act that way. When people where weave or fake nails, sometimes it's so that they have more pride in their appearance. So they dont want to walk around with naps and short broken off Hair WOULD YOU?? And short nails are just not as attractive.

Do not use a nail clipper. Only use a nail file to shape and shorten them. Protect your nails with thicker moisturizers to protect them from exposure to water which dries them out %26amp; makes them brittle.
Try Revlon's disposable files made for weak nails. File in one direction only. Start on one side and file towards the middle, then go to the other side and file towards the middle of your nail. Smooth the nail into a squoval that mirrors you cuticle or the shape of the white part of your nail bed.
Finish the edges of the nail with a hindo stone, a smooth ceramic/stone nail file or the finest grit nail file you can find. You want to make the edges really smooth.
Also, avoid using metal nail files. I recommend using disposable nail files and changing them frequently. The fresher the grit, the less the drag which leads to tearing and peeling.
I also use a cuticle balm or nail oil to moisturize my nails and protect them from water since I wash my hands frequently.
(ex. Solar Oil, OPI Avoplex)

the only way to do it is every night for about four months you have to soak your nails in all natural virgin olive oil for 5 min. and after just let the olive oil set in every night, if lines are there from the dryness of the chemicals of acrylic nails then buy the nail manicure set from bath and bodyworks try the cuticle soother and nail buffer.

i know a home remedy. warm up a pot of oil. when you consider it's warm enough, put your fingers in and keep them there for about five minutes. repeat this for as long as necessary. as for round, feminine, long nails, if you don't know how to give them a shape or just to care for them, i suggest to visit a beauty shop you trust (cause using the same utensils as other customers of the shop you can get an infection) and ask them to show you how to shape your nails and keep them that way. and you might want to check with a doctor your calcium level, cause this is a frequent cause of unhealthy nails and may also cause you problems in the future.

Acrylic nails/natural nails plan! HELP!?
okay about 2 weeks ago i got acrylic nails put on at a nail salon. my nails were short before i got them. i have a plan. it is to let the acrylics fall off on their own so there long and i dont break them easy so i have natural long nails. should i get a manicure done so there good and clean. or should i just buff them and put hardener on. and if neither please tell me what i should do. Not much you can do while they grow back, go to have them dipped and removed and what will be left is paper thin ravaged nails, you may also feel some sensitivity, what will grow in is natural strong nails like you had before but that will take some time, mine regrew in a month or so, in the mean time what i did is buy myself a clear polish, one of those ';Fast grow'; ones and another clear polish with glitter, the thicker the glitter the better, and just keep them polished with the glitter and clear undercoat until they grow out.

Natural Nails?
I have very strong, long and nice natural nails, and I don't want to get acrylic on them. The problem is I can't keep nail polish on them unless they have acrylic over them and it's airbrushed. Otherwise, the polish chips in a few days (even done professionally)

thats how mine is too. i would suggest that you get professional nailpolish (there is something called ';sticky'; i got a few years back that is suppose to work well as a base coat... its a professional product) and make sure you do a base coat, color, then top coat. and put on a top coat every other day to keep it from chipping.

You shouldn't be leaving the store right after the top coat (your nails aren't dry). It takes a time for the polish to dry fully (with 4 layers it's understandable) so be careful.
Abuse... if you do a lot of stuff that puts your perfect paint job in jeopardy buy some top coat and apply it when you need it. Use sparingly (too much builds up).

thats how mine is too. i would suggest that you get professional nailpolish (there is something called ';sticky'; i got a few years back that is suppose to work well as a base coat... its a professional product) and make sure you do a base coat, color, then top coat. and put on a top coat every other day to keep it from chipping.

Long natural nails?
I have really long nails, one of them broke way up at the part that is still attached to my skin, and it hurts really bad. Does any one know of a way to repair this without actually just tearing it off, which is impossible because it really is way up.Long natural nails?

By the way you describe the break, it sounds as though its beyond repair. So just carefully clip the remaining nail off as close to the break as possible, and then just cover it with a bandaid and let it grow out. It might be a good idea to clean the area well after clipping the remaining nail off, especially if part of your nailbed is exposed, or it bled at all. It won't take all that long to grow out far enough so that you will be able to file and shape the nail and let it grow it out to its original length. But don't tear it off. Thats going to be too painful, and you could end up tearing off more nail than is necessary.
I have repaired my nail before using clear nailpolish and a little piece of a coffee filter... but the best thing to do is to clip your nails a little shorter and then repair it so it doesn't continually get snagged.
all i can say is OUCH. good luck with that though

For my first unoffical (my baby isnt more till the end of may:) mothers day Ive decided am going to treat myself to get my nails and toes done, but my natural nails have gotten really long.. should i get acrylic so they wont break or just get a regular manicure on them... My nails are 10 cm, except for my pinky nails (they are 20). Unfortunately, I cannot help to grow it. Maybe a wrong habit like nail biting, not?

well, the nails its self dont harm your real nails but the glue does. It has chemicals that will ruin your nails. I've put fake nails on but i only keep them on 4 a short period of time so it doesn't seem like it does any harm. The materials used leave your natural nails very, soft and easy to break. and sometimes it messes up the look of your natural nails because of the sanding. I would try some nutra nail on your own nails to help them grow and keep them strong
No they do not harm your natural nails unless you do not get them taken off professionally. If you don't, you will have some glue left over on your nails which wont go away for like a week or two. So its not harmfull, but it will make your nails look like crap.

I suggest growing out your natural nails and get a manicure(just polish) GOOD LUCK!

just keeping nail polish on your finger nails will help strengthen them even if its clear top coat or base coat.
This might sound a weird and disgusting but it works and it's all natural. Take a clove of garlic and slice it in half. Use the exposed half to massage the cuticle and nail bed of each fingernail for a few minutes. Be warned that this will be a little stinky especially if you do not like the smell of garlic. After you're done, wash your hands and slice a lime/lemon in half. Use the entire half to repeat the procedure. This will not only remove most of the smell but will also give your nails a nice shine. Repeat this daily or semi daily for about a week or so and you should be able to notice the difference.

Acrylic nails ruined my natural nails...?
I recently took off my acrylic nails and my natural nails are ruined, their peeling %26amp; cracking, i've been conditioning them with vaseline and a really good cuticle oil.

I am a licensed nail tech of 18 years. Your nails are not ruined they are just damaged for a short time due to what sounds like over use of primer and tearing the nails off instead of soaking them off. You see your nail grows out from the matrix. This Matrix is just behind the cuticle and below the surface of the skin. Your nails will grow out nice and pretty in about three to six months and also depending on how fast your nails grow. Until then keep them short and don't pick at them. Keep them covered with some good clear polish and use nail oil to keep them healthy. Make sure you wear gloves when doing the dishes and cleaning with solvents. Then when you get the chance go out and find a good nail tech who wil do manicures for you.
P.S. Vaseline will not penetrate the skin. Buy some Solor Oil from your nail tech and just keep using that along with manicures.

and next time (if you did) don't peel them off, let them soak in acetone and they'll melt off.
i know those nails are awful last time i took them off i had to use a credit card! but i just let them grow out cause their is nothing else you really can do vaseline wont work its not skin just be patient and soon they will grow out!

Keep them trimmed VERY short or they might tear past your nail bed which can be extremely painful. This is one of the drawbacks of acrylics. Once you start getting them, you can't stop, or you'll have to go through this. It will be a month or two before you'll see your nails healthy the way they used to be.
I filed them down so the chips weren't so bad and put a clear nail hardener on them. After a few weeks they grow back, but you have to keep trimming them down till they have completely grown out. Otherwise, they are too thin. But now mine are nice. Just takes time.

I want long, natural nails?

Getting your nails to grow fast is really about taking care of them and keeping them healthy. Nails grow about 1/8 inch per month but what keeps nails from getting long is more about nail damage and poor nail care than about slow growth.
Shape your nails from the outside edge toward the middle, moving the emery board in one direction only rather than sawing it back and forth which damages the nail. Soaking nails in warm, soapy water before pushing cuticles back makes for less scraping on the nail bed (the pink part of the nail).
Condition nails with the same hand cream used on hands.Keeping nail polish on will keep nails from splitting, tearing or cracking. When doing a manicure, choose a nail shape that is wide and more square which is less apt to break, rather than a pointier oval shape. Using an oily nail polish remover will also help.
Eat a balanced diet to prevent vitamin deficiencies that create unhealthy nail conditions such as peeling, splitting or brittle nails. Don't fuss with your nails all the time as over filing can cause weakening and other nail problems.
Apply a strengthening clear polish to your nails regularly, even if you do not usually paint your nails.
Avoid submerging your hands in water if possible. For example, wear rubber gloves when doing dishes.
Calcium always helps. You can get calcium from a multi-vitamin or from a specific calcium supplement. The other thing I've found works REALLY well is gelatin. Gelatin is found in Jello, but in order to get the amount you need to grow long nails.

theres this wonderful stuff i use called Nail teck you can find it in most beauty supply stores or nail salons...apply once every other day and watch how strong your nails feel, and when they are strong they grow fast...hope you like it.

My toe nail is coming off and my mom says its ';just natural';!!!!!! [pics and more if you can handle!]
On March 2nd (I only remeber cause it was my mom's b-day) I was walking into the bathroom and I hit my pinky toe nail on the edge of the tile where its like sharp tile and grougt. My toe started bleeding and throbbing. My mom gave me a bandaid and said it would ';be fine';. It hurt to walk on it for like a day or two. After a while it started turning blackish and I started freaking out! My mom said it was my toes ';natural healing process';. But the nail was crumbley on the edge and turning a little blackish. Now my toenail is coming off! Its gross! I looks like dirt under my nail- but its not! I think its infected! I got scared once I realized it was coming off, so I told my mom. She (once again) said it was natural and that theres no need for a doctor. But I'm scared!

what is happening to you toe nail is a natural process however in all honesty you need to have the nail removed by a professional foot specialist not your family doc because the nail may become deformed and you will have problems forever such as constant ingrown nails.My toe nail is coming off and my mom says its ';just natural';!!!!!! no sweat!! at least five of my toenails have fallen off. on different occasions, of course, but it doesnt hurt your body. let it be. it might reattach and grown back. if it falls off, put it under you pillow and let the toenail fairy have a look at it!! (i say that because i have a five year old sister, and her toenail fell off...need i say much more?)
seriously, though, if it falls off, throw it away and ditch the sandals for a while, to give it time to grown back. you should be fine!!=)

Long Natural Nails?
I don't want my nails too long. I just want them to grow. I bite them and they are cut far down because of this nasty habit. I want my nails to grow a little in a short period of time, but I don't want to use acrylics. Any suggestions?

You can buy a special clear polish that has a bitter taste which will help prevent the biting. Also try using some nail strengthening polish, it will help keep your nails stronger so they grow better without breaking and makes them tougher to bite.Long Natural Nails?

always put nail polish remover on them, or deoderant, because the nasty taste you wont want to bite them, i wish i could follow my own rule but i bite too so i just get acrylic
30days to form a habit. 60days to break it. Try really hard at least for 60days to stop biting your nails. If you bite them, start your 60day period over again. Once you have gone a full 60days w/out biting your nails, you will bite no longer.
No real way to speed nail growth. Just keep them from breaking by managing rigid nails and hang nails, pushing your cuticles back, and use a cuticle/nail cream or oil so they do not get dry/brittle and break. Also, take a multivitamin so that when they do grow they will be strong and healthy and less likely to break.

Applying acrylic will not damage your natural nails. The improper application and removal is what damages nails. If you have the acrylic applied and removed correctly, then you should have no problem.

I am getting my nails done today %26amp; am trying to decide whether to keep my natural nails %26amp; just have them polished or get pink %26amp; white acrylics. I love the look of both. When I try to look at what the trend is, I don't see anyone in the ';media'; with pink %26amp; white acrylics - is this too much of a ';fake'; look?
