Do fake nails ruin your natural nails?

Will the glue from the fake nails ruin your natural nails? I have really thin nails to begin with and I am scared that they will become so thin that they will come off!! Nail polish makes my nails thinner so it kind of freaks me out!! Thanks!!Do fake nails ruin your natural nails?

applying the glue (chemical) , the fake nail will block oxygen and cuticle from reaching your natural nail, when you remove them you are removing the top layer of your nail (no matter how careful you are you are damaging the layer)





however nails grow fast unlike hair. i don think it would be much of a problem to ruin your natural nail. (because, i mean you can remove the nails and grow your nails healthily if you want, anytime)





just use good glues and decent less damage glue remover.
everytime i put on nails, and when i get irritated and take them out, my natural nails are always weak, i have to buy special type of nail polish for them to get stronger, but it takes a very long time until they become strong again...but i luv putting on nails i dont like the look without it =]
fake nails from like Wal mart doesnt do too much damage, nothing a llittle nail polish remover won't take off. Nails done r at a salon are acrylic and ruin ur nails and it takes a while for them to be healthy again.
Fake nails and the salon nails wont ruin your nails but it will put stress on them and harm them it is not good for nails. So I would stay away from them and try growing out your nails.
It's not the glue that ruins your nails. They have to file down your real nails before they put the acrylics on.
Yes they ruin the bed of your natural nails....If you look real close you can see littlle dents in your REAL nail. =D
