Can acrylic nails harm your natural nails?

Can acrylic nails harm your natural nails.

Im supposed to be having them done tomoro, but i looked on google a minute ago and theres some pictures that look rank. please helpCan acrylic nails harm your natural nails?
yes they doCan acrylic nails harm your natural nails?
i had acrylics for 2 months straight last year. the worst thing that happened was they got brittle and were unhealthy for about 2 months after they were removed. they do sort of ruin your natural nails, but if you have them removed properly (i didn't, i just ripped them off) they damage won't be near as bad. And, you have to give the nails air every now and then because if you don't, your nails will become yellowed and have fungus.
Any product acrylic, gel, silk, fiber etc will damage the natural nailbecausee its not breathing. However you natural nails no mater what with out acrylic, gel etc will split crack and break at some point. I think done properly and safe acrylics and gels are great. Or just get and learn how to do regular manicures and condition your cuticles and supplements work!!
yes they can, because of the chemicals they use in the glue, and nail cleaner.

here in Australia, we get told that if the nail technician is wearing a white mask, then don't get it done there, because the chemicals are very harmful (hence the mask, so THEY don't breath it in) and can infect under your nails ( sorry i forgot what its called!)

it seems like something harmless to get done, but if you don't look into the places where you get them done, you could be sorry.
That depends how long you leave them on for, I don't think they cause permanent damage. But there are disadvantages, they put them on they have to file down the top of your nail making it thin and weak. Wearing them long term does not allow your nails to breath, again making them weak, if they snap off or come loose it can be dangerous as they can rip the nail bed Ouch! When ever I have had them removed I have to wait until the whole nail bed to grow out and be replaced before they look healthy again. Despite this, acrylic nails do look good.
well they are acid based so its not wonderful for ur nails but it doesn't necessarily harm ur nails.

Gel are better because they are not acid based but they cannot be removed as traditional acrylics and the removal can damage nails.

As long as they are using legal monomer and acrylic powder you will be fine.
if you like that fake sort of pretty look

go for it

I've heard they aren't really good for your nails

but oh well, lots of stuff that looks good to people isn't good for them... rofl

some people think they look ugly and cheap and some people think they look great, and feminine

so it pretty much depends on what you think about them...

:]

ps. answer mine?
yes if you don't take of them right...

you might not be used to having longer nails than usual, get annoyed and pop them off. Don't do it! That's what will ruin your nails. I suggest a normal manicure anyday over acrylic.
for sure girly! your nails are gonna be very soft and fragile when you get them taken off. but dont worry. it will only take a few days, and they will be all better. dont stress about it. ppl wouldnt get them so often it they were terrible!
Yes they can.

Talk to whom aver is doing them ( before the start) and if they say no then tell them they changed your mind and go some where that is honest with you but has had no problems with any of their customers.
Well the cheep crappy ones do

But the propper expensive one tend not to
It would only be harmful if you pulled the acrylic nails off. It would not be good for your nails and may take them completly off.
Yup it can. But it's okay, it looks good when it's done.

%26amp; the damage isn't like a lifetime damage.

=]
yes it can its putting chemicals on your nails :)
